Help Alleviate Hunger in the Berkshires at the ‘MountainOne Thankful 5k’

MountainOne is proud to partner with the Berkshire Running Foundation, the charitable arm of the Berkshire Running Center, on its Thankful 5k race. The race takes place at Berkshire Community College on Thanksgiving morning, and 100% of the proceeds go to support local food pantries!

Earlier in the week, Jonathan Denmark, President & COO, MountainOne Insurance, and Jennifer Meehan VP, Community Engagement Officer, joined Shiobbean Lemme from Berkshire Running Center on LIVE 95.9 and shared the details of the Thankful 5K race, which can also be found below.

RACE DESCRIPTION
Thanksgiving morning is reserved for the Thankful 5K. This event is a fundraiser for local food pantries. Pittsfield serves the largest population at its local pantries, more than any other community in Western Massachusetts. Over 800 families are served weekly. The annual Thankful 5K raises thousands of dollars and donations for the pantries. In 2022, race participants donated over 3,000 pounds of non-perishable food to the South Congregational Food Pantry.

Thinking of running? Race perks this year include Thankful Hats to the first 300 registered, and the option to create a personal fundraising page (and earn a pair of Thankful Gloves). There will also be a raffle. Note: All attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food donations to the race.
