MountainOne Bank Builds Commercial Services Team

North Adams, MA – MountainOne Bank is positioning itself to better serve the banking needs of commercial clients through the development of a dedicated Commercial Services team, according to an announcement by Robert Fraser, MountainOne Bank President and Chief Operating Officer.

According to Fraser, “We have the banking services our local commercial clients need, including a sophisticated array of Cash Management options. Our plan is to reach out to clients and make them aware of our offerings and the many ways our products can help them run their businesses more effectively. This new and talented Commercial Services team has been charged with greatly expanding our deposit and cash management base.”

SHAWN GEORGE

Leading the Commercial Services team will be Shawn George, serving as Senior Vice President, Senior Commercial Services Officer. His office will be located in Rockland, MA. George brings nearly 25 years of financial leadership experience to MountainOne Bank. He previously held positons of increasing responsibility in business development and sales roles at Citizens Bank, serving most recently as Senior Vice President, Senior Business Banking Development Manager. As Senior Commercial Services Officer at MountainOne, George will lead the team in both eastern and western Massachusetts. He will focus on implementing a consistent calling and sales program, with an emphasis on expanding MountainOne’s commercial deposit base.

George holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, with a concentration in Finance, from Bridgewater State University. He lives in Bridgewater, MA, with his wife, Ellen; they have two daughters.

JOE MELE

Joe Mele has been named Commercial Services Officer, and will be located at the full-service banking office in the MountainOne Financial Center in the William Stanley Business Park in Pittsfield. Mele will work to expand the commercial deposit base in MountainOne’s western MA markets.

Prior to joining MountainOne, Mele served as a Mortgage Originator at Legacy Banks. He also was a small business owner, which gives him a unique perspective when serving the needs of business clients. He previously owned The New Berry Place and Joe’s Lunch Box in downtown Pittsfield. Mele holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, with a concentration in Finance, from American International College in Springfield. He lives in Pittsfield with his wife, Marie, and their two sons.

SEERENA HUXLEY

Seerena Huxley currently serves as Vice President, Commercial Services Officer, and is located in MountainOne’s Rockland and Quincy offices. She will work to expand commercial deposits in MountainOne’s eastern MA markets.

Prior to her current role, Huxley served as Vice President and Senior Community Banking Officer at MountainOne, and has held management positions in retail banking for over two decades. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. Huxley is active in local community organizations, including servings as a board member for the Quincy Lions Club; a committee member for Old Colony Hospice & Palliative Care; and a volunteer with Youth Works, Read Across America, Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Walk for Hospice at South Shore Hospital. She is also active with the South Shore Chamber, the Metro South Chamber, and the Quincy Chamber. Huxley lives on the South Shore with her husband; they have two grown children.
